$1 Million Funding Received from the NSW Government for a New Amenities Building

We have received the best news – Shellharbour City Council has secured funding of $750,000 from the NSW Government under the Regional Sport Facility Fund – a massive thank you to Shellharbour Council.
In addition to the grant of $750,000 Council will contribute $250,000 for a total spend of $1,000,000. Our Association was instrumental in initiating and contributing to the application submitted by Council. The funds will be used to construct new amenities at Albion Oval comprising of canteen, change rooms, storage, public toilets, accessible toilets, meeting/training room, first aid room and a referee change room.
This will be so beneficial to APTA as well as to the other sporting groups using Albion Oval. Thanks go to Albion Park Soccer Club and the Albion Park Cows FC for being so helpful in supporting the application. NSW Touch Football, Touch Football Australia, Football Illawarra, Football NSW and of course Gareth Ward are also thanked for their support for the application.
In addition to having a functional canteen space and the first aid room, we will have separate change rooms for males and females, we will no longer have to cross the carpark to use the amenities, suitable storage will be provided as well as a training room/meeting room for our meetings. Touch footy development sessions will now be possible in an indoor setting as well.
Council have already commenced the detailed design of the new amenities building.
